Application to Interview: Building a Resume that Converts
A full day workshop.
Most resumes describe what someone did. The ones that get interviews make an argument for what someone can do. This workshop builds the second kind and then teaches how to use it.
Who This is For
This workshop is designed for business school alumni, postgraduate students, and professional members who are already using AI tools in their job search, or know they should be, and want to understand where it genuinely helps and where it quietly works against them.
It works equally well for someone skeptical of AI who has avoided it entirely and someone who has leaned on it heavily without realising the cost.
The Case for this Workshop
A resume has one job. To get you into the room. Most resumes fail at that job not because the person is underqualified but because the document is making the wrong argument.
It describes duties rather than outcomes. It lists responsibilities rather than results. It tells a hiring manager what the person did rather than what changed because they did it. The distinction sounds small. The difference in interview rate is not.
This workshop is built around the Resume Science methodology developed from 22+ years inside recruitment, watching exactly what makes a hiring manager stop reading and pick up the phone. Every participant leaves with a rebuilt resume that makes a specific, evidence-based case for their candidacy.
The second half of the day uses that evidence to prepare for interviews. The achievement bank built in the morning becomes the raw material for structured answers to behavioural questions in the afternoon. By the end of the day the resume and the interview preparation are the same document. That is the connection most candidates never make.
What Participants Cover
The sole purpose of a resume. What a hiring manager is actually looking for and how most resumes fail to give it to them.
The product description. How to open a resume with a specific, compelling case for your candidacy rather than a generic summary.
Achievement excavation. A structured process for uncovering the real outcomes from your most recent roles. The results, the numbers, the specific changes you drove.
Outcome language. How to convert duty-based language into evidence-based language that lands.
The delete test. A line-by-line review that removes everything working against you.
From resume to interview. How your achievement bank becomes structured answers to the behavioural questions you will face in the room.
Paired interview practice. Delivering your answers out loud, with feedback, until they sound natural rather than rehearsed.
What Participants Leave With
A rebuilt resume that makes a specific argument for their candidacy.
An achievement bank from their two most recent roles.
A set of structured interview answers built directly from that achievement bank.
The ability to deliver those answers naturally under interview pressure.
A clear understanding of how the resume and interview preparation work as a single system rather than two separate tasks.
