A Complete Job Search Strategy
A full day workshop.
Most alumni know how to work hard. What they are missing is a system that makes the effort land.
Who this is For
This workshop is designed for business school alumni, postgraduate students and professional members who are in an active job search or preparing to start one. It works equally well for someone who has never had to search seriously before as witrh someone who has been in a search for months without the results they expected.
If your members are applying without response, interviewing without converting or simply don’t know where to start, this workshop addresses all of it in a single day.
The Case for this Workshop
The job search is one of the most important professional skills a person will ever need. It is also one that almost nobody is taught properly.
Most people approach it the same way. They update their resume, set up job alerts, start applying and wait. When nothing happens they apply more. The problem is not effort, it’s that they are doing the wrong things in the wrong order without understanding how the process works on their side.
This workshop was built from years sat in the room where the hiring decisions are made and understanding what determines who gets the job then translating that knowledge into a system your members can run for themselves.
Seven stages. Each one addressed with specific, practical tools and the understanding of why it matters. by the end of the day, participants are not just better informed. they have a working search strategy and a 30-day plan they can execute immediately.
The difference between a graduate or professional who has done this work and one who has not is visible from the first conversation. That difference is what this workhsop addresses.
What Participants Cover
Reflection and self-assessment. Participants work through where they are starting from emotionally and practically, what they are carrying from precious roles or search experiences and what they actually want from the next one. Most people skip this entirely and it costs them months.
Resume as a value pitch. Participants learn to build a resume that makes a specific argument rather than a chronological record. The difference between one that gets read and one that gets ignored.
Online and offline search strategies. How to run both channels simultaneously without wasting time on either. How job boards actually work, how to use LinkedIn properly, work with recruiters and leverage an existing network without it feeling transactional.
Communication and first impressions. What happens before a word is spoken. Voice, posture, listening and the story a candidate tells about themselves in the first sixty seconds of any conversation.
Interview planning & execution. how to prepare specifically rather than generally. How to structure answers under pressure. How to goals for each interview and debrief properly afterwards.
Rejection Management. Why rejection lands the way it does and how to process it in a way that keeps the search moving rather than stalling it (which can be an expensive mistake).
Salary negotiation and growth strategy. How to research market value, how to open the conversation, hold a position when pushed and how to think about compensation beyond the immediate offer.
What Participants Leave With
A clear direction statement and criteria filter they can apply to every opportunity they evaluate.
A resume built around evidence of outcomes rather than a list of suties.
A search strategy covering both the visible and hidden job market with a structured weekly rythym.
A working set of interview answers built from their own experience and tested on the day.
A salary position they can state and hold with confidence.
A 30-day plan with specific actions, targets and review points.
